A peaceful home-away-from-home

Whether you plan to spend your days in Antigua taking intensive Spanish classes, visiting colonial ruins, or just enjoying your

retirement, Green Mountain Guesthouse is the perfect place for medium to long-term guests to relax in comfort while enjoying Guatemala’s natural beauty.

About Us
The Guest House features 14 rooms and apartments, each one uniquely designed and fully furnished with authentic antiques and handcrafted wood furniture. High ceilings, whitewashed walls, carved wooden columns, and traditional tile floors indoors open up to organic rose gardens and fruit trees outside. Individual balconies and a wrap-around terrace provide great views of the tiled roofs of the city and the surrounding volcanoes.

Great value for your money

Our laid-back guesthouse has the best of both worlds: the natural beauty and affordability of Guatemala plus the amenities, privacy, and safety standards you’re used to back home. Every room includes a private bathroom with hot water, cable television, and wireless internet, all at no extra charge. Our various rooms and apartments range from Q2,500 – Q3,800 (approx. $330 - $460) per month. Electricity and gas are also included in the price. All apartments have kitchens; residents of the rooms are welcome to use the fully stocked community kitchen any time. A safety deposit box is also available onsite for your passport or other valuables.

Everything you need

Our central location means that all of your everyday needs can be met within easy walking distance. Within one or two blocks, residents have access to restaurants, shopping, laundry service, internet, international phone calls, and travel agencies. Taxis and private shuttles are readily available for travel within or outside of Antigua as well.

Various vacation and tourist attractions can also be found nearby: visit colonial ruins and old churches; take a guided tour of a volcano; buy fresh produce and handmade wares in the open-air traditional market. Throughout the year Antigua also hosts various cultural events and religious festivals that you won’t want to miss.

Culture in your own backyard

Green Mountain Guesthouse is also honored to have on the premises a harpsichord workshop, where two Guatemalan carpenters craft these fine instruments by hand for use in concert halls. If you stick around long enough, you may be lucky enough to see one of the finished harpsichords, which take up to one year to complete in their entirety.
